Polyurethanes were synthesized on the basis of oligo(tetramethylene gl
ycol) and toluyldiisocyanate cross-linked by copper ions and their com
plexes with crown-esters. The structure of these polymers with catenan
d fragments was studied by methods of dielectric relaxation and X-ray
scattering. It is shown that copper ions occurring at the cross-linkin
g sites are effective elements of the structure formation. The structu
re and segmental mobility of polymers with interchain catenand fragmen
ts can be modified by changing the number of cross-links.
