Changes in the parameters of porous structure of the crazes produced b
y cold drawing of PET in the presence of surface-active liquid environ
ments was studied. Relaxation phenomena were shown to be accompanied b
y dramatic structural rearrangements of the craze structure and take p
lace during polymer loading. The intensity of relaxation phenomena was
found to be controlled by the flexibility of craze fibrils and their
interaction via coagulation contacts and the development of a network
of physical entanglements.
