Abstract
The crystal and magnetic structures of UCu1.3Sn2 and UNi1.4Sn2 have be en investigated by powder neutron diffraction. The results indicated f or both compounds an antiferromagnetic ordering of the AFI type with t he uranium magnetic moments aligned along the tetragonal c-axis. At 2 K the ordered magnetic moment amounts to 2.32(7) mu(B) and 1.89(8) mu( B) for UCu1.3Sn2 and UNi1.4Sn2, respectively. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsev ier Science Ltd
