Ms. Shin et al., UNUSUAL COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHIC MANIFESTATIONS OF BENIGN METASTASIZING LEIOMYOMAS AS CAVITARY NODULAR LESIONS OR INTERSTITIAL LUNG-DISEASE, Clinical imaging, 20(1), 1996, pp. 45-49
The unusual computed tomographic manifestations of benign metastasizin
g leiomyomas diagnosed in two patients 3 1/2 and 6 years after hystere
ctomy for uterine fibroids are described, One showed multiple pulmonar
y nodules with a round or irregular air-filled cavity representing obs
tructive emphysema. The other showed interstitial lung disease with tu
mor cells spreading along alveolar septa, the vascular wall, and the b
ronchial tree. We consider such metastasizing tumors as low-grade leio
myosarcomas.
