The most stable structure for Li-4(-) is found to be the rhombus. Elec
tron detachment from this structure does not seem able to fully explai
n the experimental photoelectron spectrum. The computed results are co
nsistent with those of Rao, Jena, and Ray, who have proposed that the
experimental spectrum consists of a superposition of detachment from t
he Li-4(-) rhombus(B-2(2n)) and tetrahedron ((4)A(1)), forming the sin
glet and tripler states of Li-4, respectively.
