Anisotropic Nd-Fe-B powder was prepared from mechanically alloyed and
hot deformed magnets using hydrogen decrepitation. After hydrogen deso
rption the material becomes very friable. The powder particles show si
milar anisotropic behaviour as the original die-upset material. Values
of (BH)(max) = 81 kJ/m(3) were obtained for textured resin bonded mag
nets with a coercivity of about mu(oj)H(c) = 1.6 T and a measured dens
ity of 5.4 g/cm(3).
