Abstract
A spinning-sample magnetic alignment (SSMA) method has been used to al ign the basal planes of non-uniaxial Y2Fe17 and Gd2Fe17 compounds para llel to each other. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy fields of magnet ically aligned Y2Fe17 and Gd2Fe17 were determined, for the first time, in the temperature range from 4.2 K to the Curie temperature using th e SPD technique in a pulsed-field magnetometer.
