Abstract
Melt-spun amorphous Fe(80-x)RE(x)B(20) ribbons (RE=Ho,Dy,Nd; x less th an or equal to 16 at%) were investigated by Mossbauer spectrometry at room temperature. For the whole series of alloys, the composition depe ndence of the hyperfine parameters shows a dramatic change in structur al short-range order occurring in the composition range 8-9 at%. Dy an d Nd alloys show a magnetic texture effect in this composition range.
