Abstract
On the basis of the matrix elements, the conditions for waveguiding in sandwiches at transversal, longitudinal and polar geometries have bee n derived. The effect of the thickness of a single magneto-optical lay er buried in a dielectric film on a reflecting substrate on dispersion relations of guided modes is discussed.
