L. Pust et al., COERCIVITY AND DOMAIN-WALL PINNING IN NONUNIFORM LOCAL MAGNETIC-FIELDS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 158, 1996, pp. 355-356
The domain wall (DW) coercive field, H-cw, can be considerably reduced
if DWs are in a high local magnetic field gradient, G. In experiments
G was varied between 10(9) and 10(10) A/m(2) by changing the size of
domains in magnetic garnet films, which reduced H-cw by factors of 4-9
. These data were compared with a model calculation of H-cw(G) due to
hysteresis losses of a DW moving in a stochastic pinning field profile
.
