Results of X-ray diffraction analysis and magnetic measurements perfor
med on R(3)Fe(29-x)M(x), with R = Y or Gd, M = V or Ti and x = 1 or 2,
are reported. The intrinsic magnetic properties are discussed in comp
arison with those of R(FeM)(12)and R(2)(FeM)(17) compounds, in order t
o establish the attractivity of the 3:29 phase as a hard magnetic mate
rial.
