Abstract
Cation distributions on Fe sites of (Ir-Co)(0.85) and (Ir-Zn)(0.50) su bstituted Ba-M-hexaferrites have been determined from X-ray data colle ctions. According to magnetization measurements and neutron diffractio n patterns, the magnetic anisotropy becomes planar from x > 0.7; satur ation magnetizations and magnetic moments observed on each Fe site agr ee with the cation distributions. The magnetic anisotropy change has b een correlated accurately to the substituted Fe sites.
