Abstract
Domains of soft magnetic materials depend distinctly on the stray fiel d energy W-beta which thus represents a key parameter of the magnetiza tion process. Quantitative variations of the stray field H-beta and th e energy W-beta are discussed for highly grain oriented SiFe, consider ing the density of flux closure domains (lancets, spikes). Modeling is performed by computing H-beta and W-beta in the space above the sheet surface as a function of the experimentally determined surface field.
