The magnetic properties of YNi5-xCux compounds were investigated in th
e temperature range 5-750 K and fields up to 9 T. At high temperatures
the magnetic susceptibilities follow a Curie-Weiss-type dependence. T
he effective nickel moments are similar to that determined in nickel m
etal and decrease little on increasing the Cu content. The magnetic be
haviour of nickel is described by the spin fluctuations model.
