Results of magnetic measurements performed on Y3Co11-xFexB4 compounds,
x less than or equal to 6, are presented. The Curie temperatures and
saturation magnetizations increase as cobalt is substituted by iron. A
ssuming a mean iron magnetic moment M(Fe) = 1.5 mu(B)/at., the depende
nce of the mean cobalt moment on the exchange field is determined. Com
pounds with x greater than or equal to 1 show easy-plane magnetocrysta
lline anisotropy at room temperature.
