Abstract
X-ray diffraction, neutron scattering and Mossbauer experiments indica te that in the (Fe1-xCox)(3.34)Ge-2 ferromagnetic system there are two metal sites but three different surroundings. Co does not contribute any magnetic moment. Two competing contributions to the magnetic aniso tropy for Fe in the 2a and 2d sites are required to explain the compos ition anisotropy behaviour.
