Abstract
Thermal expansion Delta L/L was measured on the isostructural compound s YbCu4Ag and YbCu4Au. It was found that for YbCu4Ag the thermal expan sion coefficient alpha(T) exhibits a pronounced negative minimum aroun d 25 K. In contrast, alpha(T) of YbCu4Au is positive and increases at low temperatures.
