A new dammarane-type pseudojujubogenin glycoside, bacopasaponin D, has
been isolated from the reputed Indian medicinal plant Bacopa monniera
and defined as ha-L-arabinofuranosyl(1-->2)beta-D-glucopyranosyl] pse
udojujubogenin by spectroscopic methods and some chemical transformati
ons. The C-13 signals of the saponin were assigned by DEPT, H-1-H-1 CO
