Vj. Grignaschi et al., CONCURRENCE OF CYTOCHEMICAL AND IMMUNE PA TTERNS OF DIFFERENT CELLULAR LINEAGES IN CASES OF ACUTE-LEUKEMIA, Medicina, 56(4), 1996, pp. 339-345
Mixed, bilinear, biclonal and hybrid leukemias are synonymous, differi
ng from biphenotypical ones. Mixed acute leukemia is defined by the co
incidence of 1) two cytochemical markers of different lineage, or 2) o
ne of them with more than one opposite immunological marker, or 3) mor
e than one immunological marker opposite to another immunological line
age. Seven cases of mixed acute leukemia are presented, two of which s
howed posttreatment switching. It is concluded that mixed acute leukem
ias are associated with a poor prognosis, and therapeutic criteria are
defined.
