Abstract
This paper describes methods to improve the accuracy of a gradient-bas ed motion estimation method that uses eigenvalue algorithm, First, we propose the reliability indexes of estimated motion vector, Next, we c lassify motion images by the proposed indexes into categories and anal yze the characteristics of each classified image, According to the cat egories of the image characteristics, we use different types of method s in order to improve the accuracy of each motion estimation. Simulati on results show that these proposed methods are effective in improving the accuracy of motion estimation.
