Pb. Meshram et al., ANTIFEEDANT ACTIVITY OF AZADIRACHTA-INDICA AND JATROPHA-CURCAS AGAINST PAPILIO-DEMOLEUS LINN, Journal of environmental biology, 17(4), 1996, pp. 295-298
Petroleum ether extracts of two plant materials viz. Azadirachta indic
a rind Jatropha curcas in different concentrations were tested for the
ir antifeedant property against the third instar larvae of Papilio dem
oleus Linn. in the laboratory. The result showed that 0.3 per cent pet
roleum ether extract made out of seeds of A. indica deters the larvae
from feeding. The average leaf area consumed in treated leaves by tile
larvae was found to be 33.77 per cent as compared to 85.85 per cent i
n control.
