Abstract
This letter presents an architecture for a wavelength interchanging cr oss-connect (WIXC) using parametric wavelength converters, The archite cture exploits the unique properties of the difference frequency gener ating (DFG) parametric wavelength converter, including its transparenc y to signal format and its ability to convert multiple wavelengths sim ultaneously, The WIXC is shown to be scalable and rearrangeably nonblo cking, Furthermore, connection setup is performed bg the well-known lo oping algorithm used for Benes networks.
