STUDIES ON THE SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL-A CTIVITY OF THE DERIVATIVES OF ALKOXYLCARBONYL)-2H-1,2-BENZOTHIAZINE-1,1-DIOXIDES

In this paper 20 new derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of 4 -hydroxyl-3-acyl alkoxylcarbonyl)-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-1,1-dioxides (I I a-c) with aryl isocyanates, phenyl hydrazine, methyl chloroformate a nd ethylene glycol, and the reaction of compounds II a-c with aryl iso cyanates was studied under the different molar ratios of strong base N aH. Their structures were characterized by H-1 NMR, IR and elementary analysis. The biological tests indicated that the majority. showed goo d herbicidal activity and plant-growth regulating activity.
