Abstract
Compared levelling data show the present recurrence of ancient faults, particularly the contact zone between Hercynian Corsica and Alpine Co rsica, the Alpine Corsica (plaine orientale) eastern plain of Aleria c ontact and the long N-S Zicavo-Ghisoni fault. The N-S antiform of Cap Corse is still active. The area of Ajaccio seems to present the maximu m uplift of Corsica island.
