P. Sidheswaran et An. Bhat, IDENTIFICATION OF CLAY MATRIX OF FCC CATALYSTS, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. A: Inorganic, physical, theoretical & analytical, 35(10), 1996, pp. 870-872
Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts are composed of silica, alumi
na, zeolites and clay. The identification of clay components (generall
y kaolin or bentonite) present in the FCC catalysts is by XRD techniqu
e and is difficult in the presence of zeolite peak interference. The c
urrent method indicates the usefulness of the intercalational route to
obviate the difficulty in unequivocal identification of the clay matr
ix.
