Abstract
Our recent studies on synthesis, stereochemical analysis, and tropicit y of various dehydroannulenes, annulenones, annulenediones, cross-conj ugated annulene derivatives, and heteraannulenes are reviewed. Our eff orts consist mainly of the design and construction of novel peripheral ly conjugated systems and the exploration of the highest member in eac h series of compounds exhibiting tropicity.
