Abstract
Benign anorectal processes (hemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses, fistulas , and infections) as well as some functional disorders are common. The y generate significant patient discomfort and disability. Appropriate recognition of these processes allows for out-patient office-based int ervention. With the techniques and management described in this articl e many patients' symptoms can be ameliorated expeditiously.
