Dd. Mcintyre et al., NUCLEAR-MAGNETIC-RESONANCE STUDIES OF THE HETEROPOLYSACCHARIDES ALGINATE, GUM-ARABIC AND GUM XANTHAN, Starke, 48(7-8), 1996, pp. 285-291
One- and two-dimensional H-1 and C-13 NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)
sprectra were recorded for the industrially important heteropolysacch
arides alginate, gum arabic and gum xanthan. The NMR results provided
information about the primary structure of these plant derived polysac
charides. Our results are in the main in agreement with those determin
ed previously by methylation analysis and other classical methods.
