We examine the consequences of possible magnetic field changes at neut
ron star surfaces for different annihilation channels of electron-posi
tron pairs. If during glitch and post-glitch relaxation, local modific
ations in the field strength are induced, then direct observation of c
hanges in the annihilation regime may constitute an important tool to
investigate the crust structure of those stars.
