Abstract
L x-ray production cross sections have been measured for lanthanides w ith 60 keV. The measured L x-ray production cross section values for t he lanthanides are in good agreement with the theoretical ones evaluat ed using L(i) subshell fluorescence yields omega(i), Coster-Kronig tra nsition probabilities f(ij) based on the Relativistic-Hartree-Slater t heory, K to Li subshell vacancy transfer probabilities n(KLi), fractio ns of the ratiative width of the subshell F-ny and L(i) subshell photo ionisation cross section sigma p(i). The average L shell fluorescence yields <(omega)over bar (L)> have also been derived using the presentl y measured total L x-ray production cross section values and the theor etical K to L shell vacancy transfer probabilities. These results are compared with theoretically predicted values.
