Abstract
The pollen morphology of the nine species of Asphodelus sect. Asphodel us (Asphodelaceae) and their infraspecific taxa has been investigated. Polar, equatorial transversal and equatorial longitudinal axes have b een measured, and EL/ET ratios calculated. Differences in pollen size are in most cases related to ploidy level, and provide for most specie s useful taxonomic characters at the infraspecific level.
