SYNTHESIS OF 8-AMINOCERAMIDONE DERIVATIVES BY MODIFIED 2-STEP PROCESS

Disperse dyes of the type 8-aminoceramidone derivatives have been synt hesized by condensation of bromamine acid (1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinon e-2-sulfonic acid) with various arylamines followed by simultaneous de sulphonation and cyclization with a mixture of concentrated sulphuric and orthophosphoric acids which saves the time and reduces the cost. A ddition of optimum quantity of urea minimizes charring of the dyes by concentrated acids. The dyeing properties of these fifteen dyes have b een assessed on polyesters.
