Abstract
A new method is proposed for the extraction of Os(VIII) from its acidi c solution with 0.01M Bis-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (HDEHP). The me tal ion from the loaded organic phase is stripped with mixture of thio urea and HCl and then determined by the thiourea method. The method is simple and can be used for the selective extraction and separation of osmium from other metal ions.
