Life management is now a complex activity for both nuclear plant opera tors and regulators in the light of ageing plant Efficient and effecti ve life management requires an increasing contribution from consultant s who provide a range of products and services. Their role covers both specialist and independent advice, and the provision of appropriately packaged new technology. Examples are given which illustrate their co ntribution at various organizational levels relating to policy, assess ment and plant engineering issues.
