Abstract
A new genus, lodowynnea (Ascomycotina, Pezizaceae), and a new combinat ion, I. auriformis, is proposed for a species previously reported from Madagascar, Trinidad, and Venezuela as Galactinia auriformis and Pezi za taeniospora. It resembles Wynnea (Sarcoscyphaceae) in having auricu late to otideoid ascomata arising from a hypogeous stipe, besides its ribbed ascospores, but has iodine positive asci and cyanophilic ascosp ore warts. An extension of the range of the species is reported here t o include Mexico and Dominica.
