Abstract
The authors describe Ciboria cistophila as new to science. Apart from its remarkable habitat on dead leaves of Cistus laurifolius and C. lad anifer, it is characterized by the small size of the apothecia, especi ally the substipitate habit, the large asci and ascospores, with the l atter becoming septate at late maturity, occasionally producing polar ''microconidia''.
