Abstract
The chemistry of 27 species belonging to the Lecanora subfusca group ( i.e. Lecanora s.str.) has been investigated, in most cases for the fir st time. 5-Chlorolichexanthone, isoplacodiolic acid, isonotatic acid, 6-O-methylarthothelin, 4-O-methylhypoprotocetraric acid, 2'-O-methylst enosporic acid and zeorinone are recorded for the first time in Lecano ra s.str. L. flavidocarnea Vainio is reduced to synonymy with L. helva Stizenb. and L. rubrofusca B. de Lead. with L. puniceofusca Bagl.
