Abstract
We present the technique of laparoscopic sutured rectopexy as performe d in three patients (all female; aged 89, 78 and 67 years) with full-t hickness rectal prolapse. Two of the three patients were incontinent o f solid stool preoperatively and were continent of solids and liquids at 6 months follow up. The median number of pre-rectopexy daily bowel movements was 2 (range 1-4), and at 6 months follow up following surge ry, this was 1. There were no recurrences at the time of follow up.
