Abstract
Air pollution is one of the major environmental problems in the Athens basin. The photochemical smog makes its appearance almost every sunny calm day in the Athens atmosphere; during pollution episodes the more susceptible people are affected and may enter a hospital. In this pap er we will discuss the meteorological factors that influence SO2 conce ntrations and give formulas that correlate them mainly with meteorolog ical parameters for the year 1982.
