H. Castro et al., BIOMONITORING OF HEAVY-METAL DISTRIBUTION FROM ALMERIA COASTAL WATERS(ALBORAN SEA, SPAIN), Fresenius environmental bulletin, 5(5-6), 1996, pp. 308-313
The contents of Hg, Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu and Fe have been determined in 223
samples of Mullus sp. from the coast of Almeria (Spain). Experimental
data show firstly the influence of sewage discharges on the levels of
Pb and Fe and secondly that there is not a direct relation between the
use of metallic fungicides in greenhouses grown and metal concentrati
ons in coastal waters, although the values of Cu and Zn are slightly h
igher in the concerned areas. A factor analysis has been applied in or
der to show the overall structure of the experimental data.
