I. Berrada et al., A MULTIOBJECTIVE APPROACH TO NURSE SCHEDULING WITH BOTH HARD AND SOFTCONSTRAINTS, Socio-economic planning sciences, 30(3), 1996, pp. 183-193
Solving the nurse scheduling problem properly has a great impact on nu
rses' working conditions which are strongly related to the level of qu
ality of health care and recruiting of qualified personnel. In this pa
per, a multi-objective approach is shown to be a very flexible tool fo
r modeling this problem. Hence, it could be used in several specific c
ontexts. Three different solution techniques are also summarized. The
approach is illustrated with an example, and numerical results are rep
orted. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
