Ci. Siettos et al., STABILITY ANALYSIS OF MAGNETOHYDROSTATIC EQUILIBRIUM BY THE FINITE-ELEMENT METHOD AND ARNOLDI AND LANCZOS EIGENSOLVERS, Advances in engineering software, 27(1-2), 1996, pp. 145-153
The methods of Arnoldi and Lanczos are used for solving large and spar
se eigenvalue problems. Such problems arise in the computation of stab
ility of solutions of parameter-dependent, nonlinear partial different
ial equations discretized by the Galerkin/finite element method. Resul
ts are presented for the stability of equilibrium solutions of axisymm
etric ferromagnetic liquid interfaces in external magnetic field of va
rying strength. Copyright (C) 1996 Civil-Comp Limited and Elsevier Sci
