Abstract
A simple separation-preconcentration procedure for the determination o f trace metals in refined and unrefined salts is proposed. Metal ions are complexed by ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) and sorbe d onto activated carbon. Concentration of metal ions were determined b y flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The method was applied success fully to the determinations of trace amounts of Cu, Ni,Pb, Fe, Cd, Zn, Co in refined and unrefined salt samples (Recoveries >95%, relative st andard deviations < 6 %, relative error < 4%).
