Abstract
Two patients of an initial pilot study are reported. Both suffered fro m menorrhagia associated with uterine myomata. In each case bilateral uterine artery embolization under digital subtraction angiography was performed using polyvinyl alcohol particles, Patients' anaemia improve d; follow-up ultrasound showed a reduction of both uterine volumes and size of myomata. No side-effects from the procedure were noted.
