Abstract
The thermal degradation of network copolymers of methyl methacrylate w as studied as a function of the chemistry of me cross-linking agent an d frequency of cross-links. Unlike the linear homopolymer, both the tr imethylolpropane triacrylate and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate ne tworks were found to char when burned. The differences in the thermal degradation of these polymers are interpreted in terms of a simple mod el for kinetics of depolymerization.
