Abstract
Ultrasonic velocity, viscosity and density in binary liquid mixtures o f N,N-dimethyl formamide, with O-chlorophenol, O-cresol and in dimethy l sulphoxide with O-chlorophenol, O-cresol have been determined at 30 degrees C over the entire composition range. From the measured paramet ers, isentropic compressibilities, intermolecular free length, excess volumes, excess adiabatic compressibilities excess viscosities, and ex cess free lengths have been calculated. Excess adiabatic compressibili ties, excess free lengths and excess volumes of mixtures exhibit negat ive deviations whereas excess viscosities exhibit positive deviations from ideal behaviour over the entire mole fraction range.
