The antihydrogen atom (<(H)over bar(0)>) = (p) over bar e(+)), the sim
plest atomic bound state of antimatter, has not yet been observed. The
production of this object is an experimental challenge, and further,
it is suited for investigations of fundamental properties. <(H)over ba
r(0)>) is suggested to be produced in (p) over bar Z collisions. The e
xperiment described has been a first ''ad hoc'' attempt to measure a p
ossible (H) over bar(0)>) production parasitically to an internal clus
ter-target experiment at LEAR/CERN, but has now developed to the exper
iment PS210.
