Abstract
This study compares and contrasts frequent-flier programs in the Unite d States and Australia. It shows that the Australians have learned fro m the American experience by more affectively targeting business trave lers and by making the programs more restrictive. We also show that fr equent fliers are essentially the same in both countries in terms of t heir demographics. behavior. attitudes. and preferences. But Australia n business travelers are less aware of corporate policies on frequent- flier programs. compared to their American counterparts.
