Abstract
The first example of the icosahedral cobaltecinium mixed sandwich fami ly incorporating eta(5)-pyrrolyl and dicarbollide [(eta(5)-NC4H4)Co(7- R(1)-8-R(2)-7,8-C2B9H9)] was synthesized from eta(5)-pyrrolyl and the corresponding dicarbollide cluster. The electrochemical behavior of [( eta(5)-NC4H4)Co(7-CH3-8-C4H9-7,8-C2B9H9)] 3a is similar to that of [(e ta(5)-C5H5)Co(C2B9H11)].
