Abstract
(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-hydroxy-2-propyl)benzene forms tri- and tetr alithio derivatives which react readily with (CH3)(3)SiCl or (CH3)(2)S iCl2 to form the expected derivatives. Silicon is shown to be weakly c oordinated to oxygen in 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-hydroxy-2-propyl)benz ene.
